Diesel price cut lowers Phuket B7 rate to B40.69 a liter

A diesel price cut took effect in Phuket on Monday, April 27, lowering the retail price of standard diesel B7 to B40.69 per litre at service stations, Phuket Provincial Energy Officer Rattakorn Klinchan said. The reduction, approved by the Fuel Fund Management Committee, also cut B20 diesel to B33.20 per litre, while gasoline and gasohol prices were left unchanged.

Gasoline and gasohol prices hold steady

Fuel price data recorded in Phuket on Friday showed Gasohol 91 averaging B42.57 per litre. Gasohol 95 ranged from B42.94 to B43.59 per litre depending on the operator.

Gasohol E20 was priced between B35.94 and B36.50 per litre. Gasoline stood at about B52.53 per litre.

Premium fuels continued to vary by provider. Premium diesel was listed from B54.89 to B62.63 per litre, while Euro 5 premium diesel was reported at B56.09 per litre.

EPAC resolution drove refinery price reduction

Rattakorn said the retail adjustment followed a resolution by the Energy Policy Administration Committee to reduce the refinery price of diesel by B5 per litre from April 24 to May 9.

A second phase will lower the refinery price by B3 per litre from May 10 to May 19, he said.

Officials said the measure was introduced to ease the impact of fluctuating global energy prices and reduce fuel cost pressure on the public.
