Dusit signs deal for ASAI Patong Phuket hotel, targeted to open in 2029
Dusit Thani has signed a management agreement for ASAI Patong Phuket, an 85-room lifestyle hotel in central Patong scheduled to open in 2029.
Dusit Thani Plc has signed a hotel management agreement for ASAI Patong Phuket, a new lifestyle hotel in Patong that is scheduled to open in 2029.
The company announced the Phuket project as part of two new ASAI Hotels management contracts in southern Thailand, alongside ASAI Hatyai. Dusit said the expansion reflects continued growth of its ASAI brand in destinations known for culture, community, food and local experiences.
According to the company, ASAI Patong Phuket will be in central Patong, about five minutes from Patong Beach and around one hour from Phuket International Airport. The hotel is planned to have about 85 rooms, along with a cafe, social spaces built around the brand's Eat / Work / Play concept, a rooftop swimming pool and a fitness centre.
Dusit said the Patong property is intended to bring the ASAI brand's community-connected stay concept to Phuket, one of the world's most popular tourism destinations for both Thai and foreign travellers. The design will draw inspiration from beachside life, food culture, entertainment venues and the creative energy of the Patong area.
Group Chief Executive Chanin Donavanik said the ASAI brand has expanded after earlier openings in Bangkok's Chinatown, Bangkok Sathorn and Kyoto Shijo in Japan. He said travellers are increasingly looking for accommodation that combines comfort, quality and value with local identity and connections to surrounding communities.
Dusit said the two new southern Thailand signings underline its confidence in the growth potential of Thailand's lifestyle hotel market. The Hat Yai property is due to open in 2028, while ASAI Patong Phuket is set for 2029.
The company said it currently operates nine hotel brands. Across its portfolio, Dusit has 50 hotels and resorts in 19 countries, plus more than 237 luxury villas under Elite Havens in Asia, and more than 50 hotel and resort projects under development worldwide.
