An eight-year-old girl died and her uncle was injured after their motorbike collided with a six-wheel truck in Chalong, Phuket.

An eight-year-old girl was killed when the motorbike she was travelling on collided with a six-wheel truck in Chalong, Phuket, according to Chalong Police.

Police received a report at about 5:10pm after the crash in front of the Land & Houses residential development. Investigators found the Phuket-registered truck, driven by a man identified by police as Manaschai Lasingh, and a pink-and-black Honda Scoopy registered in Bangkok.

The girl, identified by police as Sirinya Aksorn, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her uncle, who was riding the motorbike, was injured and taken to Chalong Hospital by paramedics. Sirinya’s body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further procedures.

Chalong Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision. Pol Col Surasak Jaidee, superintendent of Chalong Police Station, is overseeing the case, while Pol Lt Phubadee Narinnarat is the investigating officer.
