Five cannabis shops lose licences in Phuket Old Town crackdown
Phuket authorities revoked the operating licences of five cannabis shops after finding violations including smoking on the premises and repeated failures to submit required reports.
Phuket provincial authorities have revoked the operating licences of five cannabis shops in Phuket Old Town after finding multiple breaches of their legal operating conditions.
The action followed a sweep of cannabis retailers in the area on 26 July. Authorities said the enforcement operation was part of ongoing efforts to regulate cannabis businesses, ensure compliance with the law and protect public safety and Phuket’s tourism image.
Officials said three of the shops allowed cannabis smoking inside their premises. Another shop repeatedly failed to submit legally required reports. The authorities described the violations as serious breaches of operating conditions and said the licences were cancelled with immediate effect.
