A foreign national in Cherng Talay, Thalang, has been fined and formally charged with “causing public nuisance” after a video circulated showing him lighting a fire in the middle of a residential street, police said.
The incident took place outside a local guesthouse and alarmed residents. Investigators from Cherng Talay Police Station traced the location to a nearby rental property. The man was not found at the scene, so officers coordinated with Immigration Police for a follow-up inspection.
Residents expressed relief at the authorities’ response. Police said foreigners living in or visiting Thailand are expected to follow local laws and customs.
