Foreign tourist alleges taxi driver touched her in Patong

A foreign tourist reportedly fled a taxi on Prachanukroh Road in Patong, Phuket, on 9 September 2026 and sought help from local residents after alleging that the driver touched her intimate area.

The incident was reported near an Amata massage shop at about 9.50am, according to an account shared by the owner of a nearby taxi queue. The woman was reportedly travelling in a yellow-and-red two-tone taxi and later received assistance from local tuk-tuk operators, who took her to Kudo Beach.

The taxi-queue owner said a security camera near a Baw Wee shop might have captured the incident and urged authorities to review footage to identify the driver.

The report remains under investigation. Police have not officially confirmed the allegation, and the driver's identity has not been established.
