Foreign women report assault on Bangla Road after Patong nightclub dispute

Two foreign women filed an assault complaint with Patong Police after an altercation on Bangla Road in Phuket early on May 14, police said. The incident happened in front of the Empire nightclub at about 5:29am, and the women reported minor injuries after being attacked by a group of Thai women.
The complainants were identified as Yasmine Badrane, 28, a Moroccan national, and Rim Amira Rechachi, 24, a French national.
Police review CCTV after victims report missing phone and camera
Police said the confrontation began when one of the women was waiting to use the restroom inside the nightclub and argued with two Thai women.
A cleaning worker intervened to separate the group before the two foreign women left the venue and walked along Bangla Road.
According to the police report, the Thai women later followed them and assaulted them outside.
One of the victims later found that her mobile phone and camera were missing and filed a complaint seeking legal action against those responsible.
Patong Police said officers have taken statements from the two women and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
No suspects had been named when the report was issued.
