A French woman was killed and a foreign man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near a hotel in Karon, Phuket, on May 8, 2026. Police said the motorcycle lost control on a sharp curve, crossed lanes and hit a van head-on, throwing both riders into the air.
The woman, who was riding as a passenger, died at the scene. The male rider suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
Crash happened on sharp bend near hotel
The collision happened on a curve on a road in Karon near a hotel, according to police. Officers said the motorcycle was carrying two foreign nationals when the rider lost control while negotiating the bend.
The impact sent both occupants airborne before they landed on the road. The van was struck after the motorcycle veered into the opposite lane.
