Jungceylon Heroes Battle Phuket 2026 names four teams for national finals

Four school teams will represent Phuket at the national finals of the Thai games competition after the Jungceylon Heroes Battle Phuket 2026 concluded at Jungceylon Patong on 19 July.

The event, officially titled JUNGCEYLON HEROES BATTLE PHUKET 2026: Heritage of Andaman, was held on 18-19 July and marked Phuket’s first participation in the Heroes Battle Thailand programme, according to the organisers. Phuket Governor Chotinarin Kerdsom attended the closing ceremony.

More than 32 teams from 29 schools across Phuket competed in two events for upper-primary pupils: team takraw-line marble throwing, known in Thai as “tuk-tun thoi sen”, and the Mak Kep Speed Challenge, based on the traditional Thai game of picking up small objects.

Daramas School won the team takraw-line marble throwing competition, with the team from Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation Ban Talat Nuea School finishing runner-up. Ban Kalim School won the Mak Kep Speed Challenge, while Koh Maphrao School took second place.

The four teams will represent Phuket at the national competition in Bangkok on 21-22 November, where they will compete for a trophy from National Artist Chuang Moolpinit.

The programme was organised by Jungceylon Patong in partnership with the Dang Phor Son Foundation and public, private-sector and civil-society partners. It is part of the foundation’s third-year Thai Games Project, which organisers said has expanded to more than 16 provinces and aims to involve more than 200 schools nationwide this year.

The Phuket event also included workshops, performances by local young people, a Thai fusion performance by artist Keng Thachaya, and a special honorary match involving government and private-sector representatives and Phuket media members.
