Police in Kathu, Phuket, arrested 14 people accused of betting illegally on fish-fighting matches and seized B240 and six fighting fish.

Kathu police in Phuket arrested 14 people accused of taking part in illegal betting on fish-fighting matches, police told The Phuket Express.

Police seized B240 in cash and six fighting fish at the scene. The suspects face charges of “colluding in illegal gambling (fish fighting) for monetary gain without authorization”.

The detainees and evidence were handed to investigators at Kathu Police Station for prosecution under Thai law, police said.
