A fruit shop owner in Karon was injured during a struggle with a knife-wielding intruder who escaped with 15 premium Monthong durians worth approximately B4,000, according to authorities.
The incident occurred earlier this week at a shop near the Karon traffic light intersection. CCTV footage showed the suspect entering the shop under cover of darkness, authorities said.
The shop owner, identified as 41-year-old Worawut, was awakened by suspicious noises and confronted the intruder. During the ensuing struggle, the suspect used a knife to injure him before taking the durians and fleeing.
Worawut later filed a complaint at Karon Police Station. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence as they work to identify and apprehend the suspect.
