A fisherman rescued a man who jumped from Sarasin Bridge before rescue workers took him to Thalang Hospital.

Man rescued after jumping from Sarasin Bridge in Phuket

A man identified as Sarawut was rescued after jumping from Sarasin Bridge in Phuket, police said.

The incident occurred at about 6:55am near the pier behind Wat Tha Chatchai, according to an initial investigation. A fisherman taking his boat out to sea saw Sarawut jump from the bridge, went to his assistance and brought him ashore.

Mai Khao rescue workers provided first aid before taking him to Thalang Hospital for further treatment. Tha Chatchai Police Station was notified at about 7:10am, and officers said they had contacted Sarawut’s family. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
