More than 2,000 people joined the Phuket City Pride 2026 parade in Phuket Town on June 27 under the theme “We Are One: Love as One,” according to organizers.

The event was held at the Charter Bank intersection in Phuket Town and highlighted the province’s stated commitment to equality, inclusivity and its image as a tourism destination that welcomes all visitors.

Deputy Governor Romdon Hayae-ae presided over the opening ceremony. He was joined by Teerasak Pholngam, chairman of Andaman Charoen Co., Ltd. and leader of the Phuket team, along with government officials, private-sector representatives, community groups and international visitors.

Organizers said the festival was the result of cooperation across multiple sectors and was intended to help position Phuket as a city of diversity and human dignity, while also supporting tourism and preparations to host the Inter Pride conference later this year.

Phuket Town was decorated with rainbow flags and Pride-themed displays for the event. Activities included the PRIDE PAINT: The Art of Equality contest, a dance challenge to the anthem “Welcome to Phuket City Pride,” pageantry for Miss Phuket Pride 2026 and performances by artists.

More than 40 local vendors sold food and products during the celebration.

The main parade featured a large rainbow flag procession through Phuket Old Town. Organizers said the procession included celebrities Jennifer Kim, Hai Apaporn Nakornsawan, Rasamee Khae Fakuealon, Sinon Loresca and Kai Varayuth, as well as contestants from Miss Universe Thailand, Miss Grand Thailand, Mister International Thailand and MGI All Star.

The source also cited a Russian tourist who praised Phuket’s openness and the atmosphere of the event, saying it reflected support for LGBTQ+ diversity and equality.

Organizers said the message of “We Are One” was meant to promote love, understanding and respect across different identities and cultures.
