Patong police seize motorbike after tourist found riding without a license
Patong police said they seized a motorcycle and began legal action after a tourist was found riding near the beach at night without a valid driver’s license.
Patong police have seized a motorcycle and started legal proceedings after a tourist was found riding along the beachfront without a valid driver’s license.
Police told The Phuket Express on May 27 that a patrol unit spotted the tourist operating the motorcycle near the beach at night. When officers checked the rider, the tourist was unable to present a driver’s license.
Authorities said they took legal action under Thai traffic laws and impounded the vehicle.
Police also said the case will extend to the motorcycle’s owner. The owner faces charges for allegedly allowing an unlicensed person to use the vehicle, which police said is a violation under Thai law.
