Patong to close key roads for Phuket Pride Parade
Patong Municipality will close sections of three key roads from 4pm to 8pm for the Phuket Pride Parade, with the event’s main stage moved to The Bay Arena at Jungceylon.
Patong Municipality has announced temporary traffic restrictions on parts of Thaweewong Road, Bangla Road and Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Road around Jungceylon shopping centre from 4pm to 8pm for the Phuket Pride Parade and related festivities.
Officials urged residents and visitors to plan journeys in advance and avoid affected routes during the event. In a public notice inviting people to join the celebrations, the municipality said, “Every difference makes our society more beautiful,” and called for support for diversity, equality and inclusion.
Organisers also announced a late change to the festival’s main stage location. The stage, originally planned for Bangla Square near the Bangla Police Booth, has been moved to The Bay Arena at Jungceylon. Organisers said the move was made to improve convenience for participants and visitors, while the event schedule remains unchanged.
The Phuket Pride Parade is one of the headline events of Phuket Pride Festival 2026, which has been held throughout the week under a theme of promoting diversity, equality and acceptance. The parade is expected to travel through central Patong before ending with entertainment and celebrations at Jungceylon.
Meanwhile, preparations are continuing for Phuket City Pride 2026, scheduled for June 27 in Phuket Town. Phuket City Municipality officials met police and traffic authorities on Thursday, June 4, to discuss temporary road closures, parade routes and security measures. Deputy Mayor Pibulsak Kittithorakun joined the meeting chaired by Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commander Pol Col Phaskorn Sonthikul.
Municipal officials said Phuket City Pride 2026 aims to celebrate Pride Month while promoting equality, diversity and acceptance, while also supporting tourism and economic activity in Phuket Town. Authorities are expected to announce traffic arrangements for the June 27 event closer to the date.
