Phuket Immigration detains US national wanted under Interpol Red Notice

Phuket Immigration detained a US national known as Brad after locating him at a residence in Talat Nuea, Mueang Phuket district, and revoked his permission to remain in Thailand, Thai Post reported on 11 September 2026.

The report said the US embassy had shared information about the man, who was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice. A Texas court issued an arrest warrant for him on 26 May 2022 over an allegation that he used force to assault a family member by choking or strangling them. US authorities had also revoked his passport.

The commander of Immigration Division 6 ordered the revocation of his permission to stay in Thailand under the Immigration Act. Phuket Immigration investigators then traced him to a residence in Talat Nuea.

When officers found him outside the house and asked to see his passport, he said he did not have the original and provided a copy. Officers confirmed his identity, informed him of the revocation order and took him to the Phuket Immigration investigation room to notify him of his legal rights and proceed under the law.

Phuket Immigration said it was continuing to intensify checks and legal action against foreigners considered a threat to society or suspected of breaking the law in the province.
