Phuket launches electric bus service linking airport and Rawai Beach

Phuket has launched a new electric bus service linking the island’s airport with Rawai Beach, with fares ranging from B40 to B120.
Route 8580 covers 51 kilometres and makes 16 trips a day, running from 5.45am to 8pm at roughly one-hour intervals. The service has 25 stops and uses air-conditioned buses.
The route is the fifth bus line on Phuket and is operated by the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation.
Phuket PAO president Raywat Arreerob said on Tuesday that the organisation plans to extend the service north from the airport to the Tha Chatchai checkpoint.
