Phuket officials prepare traffic and security plans for upcoming royal visit
Phuket officials have reviewed security, traffic and airport arrangements ahead of an upcoming royal visit, including the route for a royal procession and events at Chalermprakiat School.
Phuket authorities this week reviewed traffic, security and logistics plans for an upcoming royal visit, with Vice Governor Adul Chuthong chairing a planning meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall.
The meeting brought together heads of government departments, security agencies and other officials involved in organising the visit. Discussions focused on readiness preparations, including security measures, traffic management and arrangements along the royal procession route.
Officials also reviewed preparations at Phuket International Airport and along the full travel route in an effort to ensure smooth operations and minimise disruption to the public.
The meeting received a report from the advance survey team of the Bureau of the Royal Household, led by Lt Gen Chakkaj Prasong, Royal Guard to Her Royal Highness. The team recently inspected the reception route and the event venue.
Authorities also went over details of the official programme. These include the royal arrival in Phuket, a visit to a student academic exhibition and the formal opening ceremony for the Sri Sirindhorn Building at Chalermprakiat School, which operates under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
All agencies were instructed to coordinate closely on venue preparations, staffing and security arrangements to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly and with full dignity.
The latest planning session follows earlier inspections carried out this month as Phuket continues preparations for the expected royal engagement.
