Phuket police arrest woman in Phuket Town drug bust
A 44-year-old woman was arrested in Phuket Town after officers seized crystal methamphetamine and methamphetamine tablets, authorities said.
A 44-year-old Thai woman was arrested in Phuket Town after authorities said they found methamphetamine and crystal meth in her possession.
The operation took place along Phunphol Road in Talad Nuea subdistrict. The suspect was identified only as Ms. A, alias. Officers seized about 26.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 19 methamphetamine tablets, according to the report.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Phuket Governor Nirut Pongsitthathorn, Deputy Governor Adul Chuthong, and Acting Provincial Chief Officer Naphat Em-on, with oversight from the Department of Provincial Administration.
After the arrest, officers expanded the investigation by searching the suspect’s residence on Montri Road in Talad Yai, where they collected additional evidence.
The suspect was first taken to the Phuket Provincial Administration Office’s Security Division for processing before being handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station.
She faces charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, including crystal meth and tablets, and illegal drug use.
