Phuket police seize crystal meth and 1,735 ya bah pills on fishing boat

Police arrested a 30-year-old man after seizing 34.13 grammes of crystal methamphetamine and 1,735 ya bah pills from a fishing vessel at Phuket Fishing Port in Ratsada on 3 November 2026.

The search was conducted by an investigative team led by Phuket City Police Station Chief Pol Col Chatree Chukaew at the port on Si Suthat Rd, Moo 1. The suspect, identified as Mos Chanjit from Phichit province, was aboard the vessel, where police said he had been assigned to guard the boat.

Police said the operation followed a tip-off that a crew member was storing drugs on the vessel and selling them to other fishermen. Officers found eight bags containing the crystal meth and nine bags containing the pills, along with a digital scale, a ledger of alleged drug transactions, a green Vivo Y28 mobile phone, small plastic bags used for packaging drugs and equipment for consuming crystal methamphetamine.

Mos was taken to Phuket City Police Station with the seized items for further legal proceedings and an expanded investigation. Police charged him with possessing Category 1 narcotics, including methamphetamine pills and crystal methamphetamine, with intent to sell for commercial purposes. The charge also alleged that the possession contributed to the spread of narcotics among the public.

He denied the possession-with-intent-to-distribute charge but admitted illegally consuming a Category 1 narcotic, police said.
