Plans for the 2026 Phuket Pride Festival were finalized at a meeting led by Patong Mayor Lalita Maneesri on Monday, April 20, with officials, police, hospital staff, business leaders, and community groups coordinating preparations for the 10-day event. The festival, set to begin April 25 in Patong, will operate under the theme “From Visibility to Equality” and the motto “Be Loud, Be Proud, Be You.”
Expanded Program and Community Focus
Organizers confirmed this year’s Phuket Pride Festival will be the largest to date, marking its fourth edition and aiming to strengthen the island’s reputation as a global LGBTQI+ destination. The event will feature a diverse lineup, including beach volleyball competitions, an equality and diversity seminar series, the Miss Queen Andaman Power 2026 pageant, and a large-scale Pride parade through Patong.
The festival’s objectives include promoting diversity, increasing tourism confidence, and highlighting human rights issues such as gender equality and access to services. Organizers emphasized that Pride will serve as a platform for policy dialogue and urban development, with efforts to foster long-term social acceptance and inclusion for all ages and backgrounds. Local authorities have pledged full support to ensure the event’s safe and smooth operation.
