A speedboat fire at Ao Makham’s deep-sea port in Phuket was contained late Monday morning, with five people injured, officials said. The Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office received reports of the blaze at approximately 10:50 a.m. on April 6. Emergency teams responded quickly, preventing the flames from spreading to other vessels at the busy port.
Emergency Response and Ongoing Investigation
Firefighters from Wichit Municipality and the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization arrived at the scene alongside local agencies. Their coordinated efforts brought the fire under control before further damage occurred.
Rescue teams from the Kusoldharm Foundation provided immediate medical care. Five injured individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Follow-up safety measures are being coordinated to address risks and protect Phuket’s maritime infrastructure, officials said.
