Rescuers capture python from school housing in Phuket Town
A python was safely removed from school accommodation in Phuket Town after rescuers broke through a wall to reach the snake concealed inside the building.
Rescuers captured a python from school accommodation in Phuket Town on Saturday evening after a teacher reported finding the snake inside her home.
According to the source, a female teacher living in the residence first contacted the Kusoldham Phuket Foundation for help after discovering the reptile. Rescuers arrived and carried out an initial search, but were unable to catch the snake when it retreated into hard-to-reach spaces within the building.
Believing the python was still inside the house, the teacher later requested further assistance. During a more detailed inspection, rescuers traced the animal to a concealed area inside a wall.
They then broke through a section of concrete to reach the snake, determining it could not be safely removed by other means. The operation ended with rescuers safely capturing the python and removing it from the property.
No injuries were reported. The snake was later relocated away from the residence.
Rescuers urged residents to inspect homes and surrounding areas during the rainy season, when snakes and other reptiles may enter buildings to escape wet conditions and search for food. They advised the public not to try to catch snakes themselves and to call trained rescue personnel instead.
