Royal Phuket Marina has inaugurated and handed over a new learning centre at Ban Bang Khu School in Phuket’s Ko Kaeo sub-district, providing capacity for 274 students a year.

The handover ceremony took place on 2 November and was attended by marina executives, local officials, teachers and students. The facility includes four large classrooms and upgraded learning facilities for the public school in Mueang Phuket district.

Royal Phuket Marina chairman Gulu Lalvani said the marina was committed to working with community partners to support young people in Phuket and promote positive social, environmental and economic change.

The project is part of the marina’s “Building Brighter Futures Together” initiative. Royal Phuket Marina, which describes itself as Asia’s first carbon-neutral marina, said its community work extends beyond tourism and yachting, with education, sustainability and local engagement among its long-term priorities.

The learning centre is the latest stage of the marina’s partnership with Ban Bang Khu School. The two parties jointly held an environmental awareness workshop and recycling competition last year, while the marina also supplied plastic waste separation bins to the school.
