Russian man dies after being struck while crossing road in Srisoonthorn
Leonid Yurovskiy, 41, died after being struck by a car on Route 4027 in Srisoonthorn, Phuket, police said.
A 41-year-old Russian man died after being struck by a car while crossing the Heroines Monument–Pa Khlok Road in Srisoonthorn, Phuket, police said.
The collision occurred at about 5pm on Thursday, July 23, opposite a 7-Eleven in Moo 1. Police identified the deceased as Leonid Yurovskiy. Emergency responders took him to Thalang Hospital, where he died from his injuries at 8:07pm.
Police identified the driver of the black Ford as Thanet Navalong, Phuket’s Provincial Clerk, or senior administrative officer, under the Department of Provincial Administration at Phuket Provincial Hall. According to the initial investigation, the vehicle struck Mr Yurovskiy as he crossed from the side of the road opposite the convenience store.
Thalang Police, assisted by a medical examiner, conducted a post-mortem examination and documented the scene. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, while the vehicle has been sent for forensic examination. No charges had been announced at the time of reporting.
