Russian man dies after fall from Phuket condominium

A 40-year-old Russian man died after falling from the rooftop of a condominium in Cherng Talay, Thalang, police said.

Cherng Talay Police received a report at 7:15pm on Oct 28 after the man was found seriously injured outside the condominium at the southern end of Bang Tao. Rescue workers gave him emergency treatment before taking him to Thalang Hospital, where he later died.

According to a preliminary police investigation, the man’s wife told officers that he had been suffering from depression. Police reviewing CCTV footage reportedly found that he arrived alone by car, parked beneath the building and took the lift to the seventh floor before continuing to the rooftop by stairs.

Police said the footage showed him praying on the rooftop before running and jumping from the building. The investigation was continuing, with further evidence to be collected.
