Sarayuth Mallam elected Phuket Tourist Association president
Sarayuth Mallam was unanimously chosen to lead the Phuket Tourist Association after its 2026 annual general meeting on 22 July.
Sarayuth Mallam has been elected president of the Phuket Tourist Association after the association’s 2026 annual general meeting in Phuket on 22 July.
The newly elected 11-member executive committee unanimously selected Mr Sarayuth, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the tourism industry and has long been involved with the association. The meeting was held at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Chaofa Hotel and attended by association members, government officials, private-sector representatives and educational institutions.
Phuket Governor Chotinrin congratulated Mr Sarayuth and said public- and private-sector cooperation would be important to strengthening Phuket’s competitiveness and supporting its goal “of becoming a sustainable world-class tourism destination”.
The meeting also featured seminars on convention facilities and the MICE sector, the Erasmus+ scholarship programme, long-haul tourism trends with a focus on the Middle East, and the effects of global geopolitical developments on Thailand’s tourism industry. Members reviewed the association’s activities over the past year and discussed future priorities for Phuket’s tourism sector.
The executive committee comprises Panatchakorn Jaiyen, Kanokkorn Phruksakit, Thanawat Ongcharoen, Karn Ekwanich, Sathiaphong Lojanaphiwat, Rangsimant Kingkaew, Puttipong Kitipraphorn, Sarayuth Mallam, Supattra Charuariyannont, Sasit Thawornwong and Nantida Atiseth.
