Suspect leads police to alleged burial site of Russian siblings in Chonburi
Police said a suspect led officers to a forest near Pattaya where he allegedly buried the bodies of two Russian siblings. The remains had not yet been confirmed found.
Police have detained a man known as Thana, or “Pong”, and his associate “Thong” after the pair were linked to the alleged killing and secret burial of two young Russian siblings in Chonburi province.
Officers escorted the main suspect to the Sak Ngaeo forest in Huai Yai, Bang Lamung district, near Pattaya, where he reportedly indicated the alleged burial site. Police said the suspect confessed to transporting and burying the bodies.
According to the report, the siblings were allegedly killed after resisting an attempt to steal their motorbike. Investigators are examining that account and other possible motives.
Several agencies searched the forest for the remains and collected forensic evidence. If the bodies are located, they will undergo autopsies and further evidence processing.
Police are also investigating unconfirmed reports that up to three other bodies may have been buried in the same area. Authorities stressed that those reports had not been verified.
