Phuket officials have arrested 10 Thai and Myanmar nationals and seized cannabis, vaping devices and untaxed cigarettes worth more than B200,000 in a raid on Bangla Road in Patong.

Officials told the Phuket Express that the operation followed complaints about unlicensed cannabis sales and contraband tobacco products in the area. The detainees comprised five men and five women.

All 10 suspects were handed over to Patong Police Station for prosecution, according to the report.

One Myanmar national faces additional allegations under Sections 46 and 78 of the Thai Traditional Medicine Wisdom Protection and Promotion Act 1999 for selling or processing controlled herbs without authorisation. He also faces a charge of working illegally as a foreign national under the Royal Decree on the Management of Foreign Workers 2017.
