Ten Indian tourists rescued after longtail boat capsizes off Krabi
A longtail boat carrying 12 people capsized near Laem Hang Nak while travelling from Ao Nang to Koh Hong on 15 August. All passengers and crew were rescued, with seven people injured.
A longtail tourist boat carrying 12 people capsized and was partially submerged near Laem Hang Nak in Krabi on Saturday, 15 August 2026, while travelling from Ao Nang to Koh Hong.
The passengers included 10 Indian tourists, a tour guide and the boat’s captain. The Third Naval Area Command’s Maritime Operations Center received an emergency report at about 11.15am.
Nearby speedboats rescued everyone on board and took them to Klong Muang Beach for medical assessment. Seven people were injured: six sustained minor wounds and one suffered a fractured arm.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, including the boat’s condition and the circumstances surrounding the capsizing.
