Thai AirAsia to resume Suvarnabhumi-Phuket flights on 1 October

Thai AirAsia will resume domestic operations from Suvarnabhumi Airport on 1 October 2026, including five daily flights to Phuket, as the airline expands capacity ahead of Thailand’s year-end high season.

The airline will operate up to 135 domestic flights a day between October and December, up more than 50% from its average peak of 88 daily flights in the third quarter. From Suvarnabhumi, it will also run six daily flights to Chiang Mai and two to Krabi.

Don Mueang International Airport will remain Thai AirAsia’s main Bangkok base, with up to 15 daily flights to Phuket. The airline will maintain 22 direct routes from Don Mueang and three from Suvarnabhumi, alongside nine cross-regional routes.

From 25 October, Thai AirAsia will add direct services from Phuket to northeastern Thailand, with Phuket–Khon Kaen flights operating up to three times a week and Phuket–Udon Thani flights up to four times a week.

Thai AirAsia chief executive Phairat Pornpathananangoon said the airline had previously reduced flights because of persistently high aviation fuel prices and weaker travel demand. He said the carrier expected domestic tourism to recover strongly in the fourth quarter and continue into early 2027, supported by the high season and tourism-stimulus measures planned by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
