Thai Marine Phuket withdraws cases against Sondhi after apology, vows to pursue Sai Scott case

Thai Marine (Phuket) Co., Ltd. and Thai Marine Exclusive Voyage Co., Ltd. say they have withdrawn criminal and civil cases against Sondhi Limthongkul following his formal apology, while continuing legal action against Sai Samut, known as Sai Scott.

In a statement reported by Daily News, the companies said they withdrew both cases against Sondhi, including a civil claim seeking B100 million, without imposing additional conditions or costs. They said the decision reflected their focus on correcting the record and protecting the organisations’ reputations rather than seeking financial gain.

The companies said they filed a criminal complaint against Sai Samut alleging defamation by publication and offences under the Computer Crimes Act. They said the case did not include any claim for monetary damages and was brought after Sai allegedly ignored requests to correct inaccurate information.

According to the statement, Sai had denied the allegations throughout the court testimony process. The companies said a social-media post on 11 September 2026 presented a conflicting account of attempts to apologise or otherwise resolve the dispute, and could cause the public to misunderstand the companies’ position.

Thai Marine said its lawyers were collecting evidence for submission to the court in the existing case over what it described as potentially false or distorted computer data. The companies said they would not withdraw the complaint on the basis of private conditions and would continue the proceedings until the court delivers its judgment in November.
