Thai voice actor Na Toi Sembe says Phuket property project owner has proposed new debt settlement plan

Thai veteran voice actor Na Toi Sembe, whose real name is Niran Boonyaratphan, said he has still not been repaid after alleging he was defrauded in a joint investment in a real-estate project near Nai Harn Beach in Phuket.

In a Facebook update, Na Toi said the project owner had contacted him and said a new debt restructuring plan would be adjusted to suit all affected investors, with outstanding debts to be repaid in stages. He said it remained to be seen whether those assurances would be carried out.

The case became a major news story after Na Toi said he had lost both principal and promised returns from the investment in the Phuket project.

In his latest statement, he thanked supporters for what he described as an overwhelming response. He said he had received messages of support from fans, media outlets, public figures and more than 100 lawyers from around the country who had offered to help pursue the case without charge.

Na Toi also said that after the news emerged, he learned that there were several other people facing the same problem. Some had contacted him to exchange information, he said, adding that they had regained hope.

He said he had not yet received payment on the debt owed to him, but that the support he and his family had received had helped them regain strength and continue the fight.

Na Toi, a well-known figure to generations of Thai cartoon viewers, wrote that children once taught by cartoons to be heroes had now grown up and returned to become his heroes.
