Thalang police conduct active-shooter drill at Phuket school
Police, teachers, students and medical volunteers took part in a “run, hide, fight” emergency response exercise at Ban Khok Wat Mai School.
Thalang police conducted an active-shooter emergency response drill at Ban Khok Wat Mai School in Thep Krasatti, Phuket, on 11 September 2026.
The exercise, based on the “run, hide, fight” approach, was led by Thalang police chief Pol Col Nikorn Chuthong, along with police officers from the prevention, suppression and investigation units and emergency medical volunteers from Si Sunthon subdistrict.
Before the drill, officers briefed teachers, students and education staff on their roles and the sequence of actions to follow during an emergency. Residents in the area were also informed in advance to help prevent alarm during the exercise.
Police said the drill was completed safely and that participants followed the procedures correctly, improving their preparedness for a possible emergency at the school.
