Phuket police arrested three suspects after raiding two restaurants in Wichit that were allegedly operating as illegal entertainment venues and employing minors under 18.
Police in Phuket arrested three people after raiding two restaurants in Wichit that were allegedly operating as unauthorized entertainment venues and employing workers under 18.
Wichit Police said the inspections took place on the night of June 9 at establishments suspected of operating illegally and exploiting child labor.
At the first location, officers said they found evidence of violations at a restaurant and arrested its manager, Mr. Ji, 41. He was charged with operating an entertainment venue without authorization, employing minors under 18 without permission, and encouraging or allowing children to engage in inappropriate behavior or be placed in situations at risk of criminal activity.
In a second raid at another restaurant on Chao Fah East Road, police said they found similar violations and arrested two women, Ms. Pim, 42, and Ms. Ju, 38. They face charges of jointly operating an unauthorized entertainment venue, employing minors under 18, and facilitating or permitting children to engage in improper conduct or be exposed to criminal risk.
Police said all three suspects were detained and evidence was collected for further investigation. The case has been handed to investigators at Wichit Police Station for prosecution under Thai law.
