Traveloka says Double Day campaigns lift bookings and platform traffic — confirmed details at this stage for Phuket readers.

Traveloka says Double Day campaigns lift bookings and platform traffic

Traveloka said on May 8 that its Double Day campaign strategy is reshaping travel booking behavior in Thailand, with Phuket among the domestic destinations benefiting from the shift. The company said Thai users increasingly plan trips around sale dates such as 1.1, 2.2 and 5.5 instead of booking immediately, helping drive a 49% rise in platform traffic from May to December 2025.

The company said it adjusted its 2026 marketing calendar by increasing campaign frequency in the first quarter. That change helped lift gross transaction value by 70% across its customer base in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, according to Traveloka.

Thai travelers wait for sale dates before booking

Alex Jung, Traveloka’s chief marketing officer, said the campaigns are changing not only what consumers book but also when they decide to book. He said travelers now often delay purchases because they expect promotional windows to return on repeated Double Day dates.

Traveloka said waiting for deals has become part of trip planning rather than a last-minute bonus. The company said price remains a key factor, but timing now plays an equally important role in budgeting and booking decisions.

Domestic and overseas demand clusters around key destinations

Traveloka said Double Day campaigns have become a trigger point for two main booking groups. For outbound trips, bookings rose strongly for Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea, with travelers using the campaigns to secure premium options in high-demand markets.

For domestic travel, the company said the promotions encourage more frequent short-break bookings under a “book now, travel soon” pattern. Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri and Chiang Rai remained the most popular domestic destinations, with travelers using deals to upgrade accommodation or take more trips within Thailand.
