Two Kyrgyz fugitives wanted on Interpol Red Notices were arrested in Phuket on April 28 in connection with a kidnapping and murder case in Kyrgyzstan, police said. Crime Suppression Division officers tracked 26-year-old Mr Aiat and 26-year-old Mr Adilet to a hotel in the Patong area before coordinating with immigration officers in Kathu District.
Victim disappeared in Bishkek before body was found in forest valley
The case began in Kyrgyzstan, where a man identified as Mr Jiang was reported missing on April 11 after he was seen with two men in Bishkek. Authorities later found his body dumped in a mountain valley in the Arsha forest area.
Investigators said the body showed signs of severe physical assault that caused his death. Interpol Bishkek identified the two men as suspects and later found they had crossed borders and gone into hiding in Thailand.
Following a formal request from international authorities, Thai investigators launched surveillance to locate the pair. Police said immigration officials revoked both suspects’ residency permits immediately after the arrests.
The two men are being deported to the Kyrgyzstan Republic to face charges of kidnapping, unlawful detention and murder.
