Two preliminary positive drug screens recorded during Phuket Town venue inspection

Officials recorded two preliminary positive drug-screening results during an inspection of an entertainment venue in Phuket Town on 19 September 2026, The Phuket Express reported.

The operation began at about 00:40 and was led by Mueang Phuket District Chief Siwat Rawangkul, who is currently acting as provincial permanent secretary. Several deputy district officers and provincial security assistants also took part.

Officials checked the venue’s operating licence and searched staff and patrons for weapons. No weapons or related offences were found.

The random screening results involving employees and customers are preliminary and will be subject to confirmatory laboratory testing under standard procedures. Authorities have not released the personal details of those tested.
