Unlicensed cannabis shop in Wichit raided; goods worth B120,000 seized
A 22-year-old man was arrested after authorities raided an allegedly unlicensed cannabis shop in Wichit and seized cannabis products and equipment valued at about B120,000.
Authorities arrested a 22-year-old man and seized cannabis products and paraphernalia valued at about B120,000 during a raid on an allegedly unlicensed shop in Wichit, Phuket, provincial authorities told The Phuket Express on 24 July 2026.
Officials conducted a sting purchase before entering the premises. They confiscated 266 grams of dried cannabis flower, 14 pre-rolled joints, 201 rolling papers, a digital scale, trays and a grinder.
Extracts and electronic pods seized in the operation are undergoing laboratory testing to determine their chemical composition before any further charges are filed, according to the authorities.
The suspect faces allegations of selling or processing controlled herbs for commercial purposes without authorisation under Sections 46 and 78 of Thailand’s Traditional Medicine Protection and Promotion Act 1999. He and the seized evidence were handed over to Wichit Police Station for prosecution.
