Utility pole fire brought under control in Mai Khao
Firefighters extinguished a blaze that spread between power poles in Mai Khao early on 21 September. No injuries or deaths were reported.
A fire on a utility pole in Mai Khao was brought under control early on Monday, 21 September 2026, after flames spread to nearby poles and sent heavy smoke across a roadside area.
Tha Chatchai Police were alerted at about 2.20am after a passer-by reported seeing sparks from power lines on Ban Kho En–Laem Maphrao Road, near the entrance to Soi Prapa in Moo 2, Mai Khao. Police, firefighters from the Mai Khao Subdistrict Administrative Organisation and officials from the Provincial Electricity Authority’s Thalang branch attended the scene.
Firefighters used water to extinguish the blaze, which was under control by about 2.35am. The passer-by told police they had seen the sparks while passing the area at about 2.10am.
Police said the fire was suspected to have originated from the power lines, but its cause remained under investigation. No injuries or deaths were reported, while the extent of property damage was still being assessed.
