Van Driver Arrested in Chalong After Police Find Meth Pills
A 30-year-old van driver was arrested in Chalong after police found six methamphetamine pills in his vehicle and later confirmed the drug was in his system.
Police in Chalong arrested a 30-year-old van driver after officers found six methamphetamine pills during a roadside search at the Saiyuan intersection on Wiset Road.
According to the report, police stopped a van they considered suspicious near the traffic lights at the intersection. A search of the vehicle found six methamphetamine tablets hidden inside.
The driver, who is from Thai Mueang District in Phang Nga province, was taken into custody. Later testing confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in his system.
Police filed three charges: possession of a Category 1 narcotic, methamphetamine, without authorization; consumption of a Category 1 narcotic in violation of the law; and driving while under the influence of a Category 1 narcotic.
The suspect reportedly asked for leniency, but police proceeded with legal action. He was transferred to Chalong Police Station along with the seized drugs for further investigation and prosecution.
