Works under way at two Phuket U-turns on Thepkrasattri Road
Motorists have been advised to allow extra travel time as works take place at U-turns near Eagle Cement and Baan Kian.
Construction is under way at two U-turns on Thepkrasattri Road in Phuket, with motorists advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
The Phuket Highways Office said on 31 August that work was taking place at the U-turn in front of Eagle Cement on the Mak Prok–Phuket Town section of the road, between Km 36+194 and Km 36+925. Civil engineering technician Kritsada Sukprasert is supervising the project and can be contacted on 062-309 7246.
The second worksite is at the U-turn in front of the 7-Eleven at Baan Kian, between Km 30+938 and Km 31+550. The project supervisor is civil engineering technician Chanuwat Kaewduang, who can be contacted on 087-727 6294.
The Phuket Highway District advised motorists to allow additional travel time or use alternative routes where possible.
The Eagle Cement U-turn has already undergone road-surface improvement work. In an earlier notice, the Phuket Highways Office said contractors expected to work on about 400 metres of road each day between 9am and 5pm. The work was expected to take about one month, while the contract sets a completion date of 6 December.
The latest announcement did not provide a separate completion date for either of the two U-turn worksites.
Road problems can be reported to the Phuket Highways Office on 076-212-179 during office hours. The Department of Highways hotline, 1586, is available free of charge around the clock.
