16-year-old Phuket rocker returns to school after America’s Got Talent live shows
Nene Royal returned to Kajonkiet International School Phuket on 31 August, three days after coming home from the United States, where she advanced to the America’s Got Talent grand final.
Sixteen-year-old Phuket musician Nene Royal returned to Kajonkiet International School Phuket on 31 August, three days after returning from the United States following her appearance in the live shows of America’s Got Talent Season 21.
Nene Royal, whose real name is Rattikarn “Praew” Amloy, had missed several days of classes while competing on the programme. School executive Permkiat Kesakul welcomed her back, writing: “Welcome home Praew (Nene)!! Welcome back to KIS!!!”
The guitarist and singer first drew widespread attention during her audition with The Cranberries’ “Zombie”. She later performed Muse’s “Hysteria” before reaching the live quarterfinals, where she performed Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”.
According to the report, Howie Mandel praised her talent and Sofia Vergara said she had the potential to win. Mel B then pressed the Live Golden Buzzer, sending Nene directly through to the grand final.
Nene returned to Phuket on 28 August and had previously said she was looking forward to going back to school after missing classes. She will now continue her studies at KIS while preparing for the next stage of the competition.
