A car struck five pedestrians and a mobile food vendor on Luang Phor Chuan Road in Karon, Phuket, at about 3.50pm on 19 October 2026.

The injured pedestrians were two Thai women, aged 36 and 50, a 45-year-old German woman and two German children aged seven and two. The food vendor, 33-year-old Prasit, also sustained minor injuries.

Officers from Karon Police Station found a white Toyota Corolla Cross on the roadside pavement outside the Orchid Hotel and a massage shop. The Bangkok-registered vehicle was driven by a 53-year-old Thai woman identified as Suttisa, who was reportedly uninjured.

The crash also damaged the sidecar motorcycle used by Prasit to sell deep-fried meatballs. The five injured pedestrians were taken to Chalong Hospital for treatment.

Suttisa told police she was unfamiliar with the road and had been following directions on a GPS application on her mobile phone. She said she looked away from the road to check the map as she reached the scene. According to the report, the car first struck the food vendor before hitting the other victims.

Police had not announced any legal charges against the driver. The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
