Double-decker sightseeing bus service launches in Phuket

City Sightseeing Phuket began operating a daily double-decker sightseeing bus service on 20 October 2026, linking 11 destinations across the island in a hop-on, hop-off format.

The service is operated by Elephant GoGo Phuket in partnership with City Sightseeing, an international sightseeing bus brand originating in Spain, and Central Phuket, which provides the starting point and sales location. The route begins at Central Phuket Floresta and connects Phuket Old Town, Saphan Hin Park, Kiew Thien Keng Shrine, Muay Thai Street on Soi Ta-iad, Chalong Temple, Robinson Lifestyle Chalong, Hanuman World Phuket and King Power Phuket before returning to the Central Phuket area.

Passengers can leave the bus at designated stops, explore independently and board a later service. Buses depart Central Phuket Floresta every hour from 10am to 4pm, with the full route taking an estimated two to two and a half hours. GPS tracking is available, and audio commentary is offered in Thai, English, Chinese, Russian, German, French, Spanish and Korean.

A 24-hour pass costs B1,200 for adults and B600 for children. A 48-hour pass costs B1,500 for adults and B750 for children. Child fares apply to those aged six to 12 or under 150 centimetres tall, subject to the company’s terms and conditions.

Krit Witthayasamrit, managing director of Elephant GoGo Phuket, said the service was intended to connect visitors with local shops, restaurants, tour operators and guides rather than operate only as a sightseeing bus. The company also expects to create jobs in driving, customer service, sales and operations, although its projected employment impact and the additional spending generated for businesses along the route have not been quantified.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phuket office said the island received more than 9.2 million visitors in the first eight months of 2026, generating B356.21 billion in tourism revenue. International visitors accounted for 6.79 million arrivals.
