Police detained five Russian men after an unprovoked street assault in Phuket on May 10 outside Krungsri Bank on Rasada Road in Talad Yai. Phuket City Police said the group chased and punched both Thais and other foreigners without apparent cause, triggering alarm among people nearby.

Police identify five men taken to Phuket City Police Station

Investigating officer Lt. Col. Sumet Phetruanthong received the report from the Phuket City Police radio center and went to the scene with patrol officers, officials said.

Police identified the five men as Iouri Bilekgo, Anton Zabitov, Ivan Azanov, Evgeny Yakushev and Vitaly Maslovskiy.

All five were taken into custody at Phuket City Police Station.

The case was reported to Phuket City Police chief Col. Chatree Chukaew for legal action.
