Foreign woman killed in hit-and-run on Phuket’s Thepkrasattri Road
A foreign woman believed to be aged 25-35 was killed on Thepkrasattri Road in Koh Kaew, Phuket. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and driver.
A foreign woman believed to be aged between 25 and 35 was killed in a hit-and-run on Thepkrasattri Road in Koh Kaew, Phuket, police said.
Pol Lt Col Natthee Phichitchai Nithimeth, an investigating officer at Phuket City Police Station, received a report at about 5am. The woman was found in the middle of the southbound carriageway, about 20 metres past the PTT petrol station at Boat Lagoon, and was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering catastrophic injuries.
Police said she had no identification documents. A mobile phone and wallet were found, but her nationality had not been confirmed. The body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital after a preliminary examination.
No vehicle involved in the collision was found at the scene. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify the vehicle and driver, after which police said they would pursue legal action.
