Former Phuket MP urges government spokesperson to stop attacking People’s Party lawmaker
Thitikan Thitipruetthikul said Ploythale Laksameesangchan should explain progress against alleged grey Chinese and nominee activity in Phuket instead of criticising Phakamon Noonanant.
Former Phuket MP Thitikan Thitipruetthikul has urged Ploythale Laksameesangchan, deputy spokesperson in the Office of the Prime Minister, to stop criticising People’s Party list MP Phakamon Noonanant and address alleged grey Chinese and nominee activity in Phuket.
Thitikan made the remarks on 2 August 2026 in response to Ploythale’s criticism of Phakamon’s comments that a cabinet reshuffle was less important than improving Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s leadership.
Ploythale had said critics should not attack the prime minister and cabinet with bias for political gain, and should follow the government’s work and concrete achievements, according to the report.
Thitikan rejected that defence, saying the government should provide updates on alleged nominee businesses linked to what he called “grey Chinese” activity in Phuket. He questioned whether authorities had traced cases to major figures or officials allegedly involved in improper land-title issuance or allowing encroachment on state land.
He also called for progress reports on the government’s latest China visit, including investment and concrete cooperation, as well as on alleged corruption in local government examinations and the investigation into alleged collusion in the Senate election. He said Ploythale should focus on explaining those issues rather than seeking publicity by attacking Phakamon.
