Immigration police arrested four Russian men on Koh Samui on May 11, 2026, for allegedly working illegally at a building site near Chaweng Beach, officials said. Investigators said the men, linked to a Phuket company, were found renovating a premises intended to operate as a karaoke and hostess bar.
Police said they had monitored the group for several days before entering the site after one suspect opened a locked door to smoke.
Visa overstays and nominee company probe
Inside, officers found more than four people working on electrical control panels and sound systems in a secret VIP room, according to the investigation.
The four arrested were identified as Konstantin Kuppert, 43, Vladislav Lochinov, 27, Nikolai Kolpadov, 38, and Maxim Grebkin, 45.
Police confirmed two had overstayed their visas by three months. The other two were allegedly working in occupations reserved for Thai nationals.
All four were taken to Bo Phut Police Station for legal action and will be deported after court proceedings are completed.
Officials are also examining the company involved to determine whether it is operating as a nominee entity for foreign owners.
