Chalong police recovered most of a 43-year-old American tourist’s belongings after a GPS signal from a missing device led officers to Promthep Cape in Rawai, The Phuket Express reported.
The tourist told officers he had left his crossbody bag on Nai Harn Beach while swimming on 4 October 2026. He returned about 30 minutes later and found it missing. The bag contained an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a Realme Note smartphone, a wallet, cash, important documents and other personal items.
Chalong Police Station recorded the complaint, and at 10.10pm officers received location data from one of the devices. The signal led to an area near the back entrance of the football field at Promthep Cape, opposite the windmill viewpoint. Motorcycle patrol units coordinated with the tourist and searched the area.
Most of the belongings were recovered and returned. The tourist said B1,000 in cash and the Realme Note phone, valued at about B3,000, were still missing. Police are continuing to investigate.
